Girls Nite Out Productions presents The Hallelujah Girls

The Hallelujah Girls

October 6-9, 2011

At the Black Box Theatre at Main Street Landing

(Burlington, VT) – “The Hallelujah Girls,” a play written by some of the comedy team that brought us the “Golden Girls” TV series, opens October 6th at the Black Box Theatre at Main Street Landing Performing Arts Center on Lake Street in Burlington.

“Hallelujah Girls” follows a group of feisty women who decide to shake up their lives by setting up a spa in an abandoned church. After the loss of a dear friend, the women realize time is precious, and if they’re going to change their lives and achieve their dreams, they better get on with it NOW! This joyful comedy will make you laugh out loud as the friends rally to overcome obstacles as they launch their new and improved lives.

Veteran director, actor and playwright, Carole Vasta Folley, directs the play, which consists of a cast of well-known local performers: Margaret Boylan, Betsy Conlon, Roy Cutler, Robert Demic, Kelly Kendall, Roberta Nubile and Janet Stambolian. Additionally, actress Linda McGinnis makes her Vermont debut after relocating to Burlington from New Delhi.

Founded in 2010, Girls Nite Out Productions came to life when actresses Jennifer Warwick-Sokolowski and Janet Stambolian determined that the best way to provide more high quality theatrical roles for women was to create the opportunities on their own. Girls Nite Out’s debut performance was last Fall’s well-received “Steel Magnolias”. For the latest news, visit or “like” Girls Nite Out Productions on Facebook.

“Hallelujah Girls” is written by Jessie Jones, Nicholas Hope and Jamie Wooten and is sponsored by A Little Something, August First and Nancy Carlson Fisher MD.
